Environmental enthusiasts haven’t left any stone unturned to educate people about the threats to our planet. In recent months we have seen more widespread changes in the attitude of consumers towards the environment (and towards institutions which have opted to go green). This is due in large part to the teachings by various environmental agencies and the growing trend to go green.

The trade show industry over the years has been widely regarded as wasteful. However, over the past year or so I have seen noticeable changes amongst the exhibit builders and exhibitors in creating more eco friendly displays.

You now have green options when it comes time to purchasing you next display. The more eco friendly trade show booths use recycled or earth friendly materials such recycled aluminum, bamboo, formaldehyde free wood, low voc paints, and eco solvent inks.

Make sure you contact a professional custom display company that knows how to properly design and build using green materials. Green custom booths will usually have more modern feel because of the materials used. However a full custom exhibit company should be able to design and construct a look that fits your needs.

Another way to become greener in the display market is by using rental exhibits. The reasons for being eco friendly are more transparent. Essentially the same booth can be used over and over again eliminating waste. In addition there a monetary advantageous when renting. Renting is less expensive but should provide the same look and feel of a custom booth.

Just remember by going green your not only helping the environment today but for years to come.

Global warming is a major concern and each day we wake up with this imminent danger lurking overhead. It is up to the people and not just governments to make policies regarding what should be done and what should not be done. As responsible human beings, it is in our best interest to stand up to what is right and believe that we can make a difference. The initial steps may be hard to take but they will pave the way for greater changes.

Earth Hour is one such move, a simple ideal that sends a strong message. To put your foot down against the extremities we have bought upon our self, ‘Earth Hour’ required people, businesses and offices to simply forgo the use of electricity for an hour. A very simple action if you gave it thought but a very bold statement with immediate results.

Leaving your power supply on unnecessarily is depleting natural resources and increasing global warming, we need to do something now. On March 31 2007, for one hour, Sydney in Australia took the initiative to control coal-fired electricity by turning off its lights. The city recorded a reduction of 10.2% energy consumption as a result of participation of over 2.2 million residents and over 2,100 businesses.

This year, 2008, 24 global cities showed their support in the Earth Hour campaign at 8pm on March 29. Earth Hour aims at encouraging people to minimize power consumption as is possible. These are simple steps to take but with more participation they will have greater results.
